THE RUGBY LOCAL PLAN
The Plan – as approved by the Secretary for State and adopted by Rugby Borough Council
The purpose of the Local Plan is to describe the type of place Rugby Borough is today, the type of place we aspire to be in the future and provide a framework that will manage change and growth until 2031. The Local Plan sets out the long-term spatial vision for how the town and villages in the Borough are planned to develop and change and how this vision will be delivered through a strategy for promoting, distributing and delivering sustainable development.
The adopted South West Rugby Masterplan Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) does not form part of the Development Plan but sits beneath the Rugby Borough Local Plan 2011-2031, adopted by the council in 2019. The SPD provides additional detail and information to help guide and support comprehensive development of the South West Rugby allocation as specified in the Rugby Borough Local Plan. This includes developments in the Thurlaston Parish of the Symmetry Park warehouse complex.

This is the response of Thurlaston Parish Council (TPC) to the invitation from Rugby Borough Council to respond to their consultation document ‘Rugby Borough Local Plan, Issues and Options’ of October 2023. Rugby Local Plan - Symmetry Park (R22/0719) - Creation of Water Course Diversion and associated landscaping. August 2022
The Parish Council submitted its assessment of the above planning application. It is deemed acceptable subject to several conditions.

The Parish Council submitted a holding objection until such time as the total impact of a number of piecemeal developments has been appraised and that the cumulative impact of pollution is acceptable to all parties.
