The Thurlaston Art Group

Updated February 2021

The Group was established by David Cooper in 2016 as a Sketching Group.

Since the autumn of 2019 members have widened their activities and are now known as an Art Group.   It manages its activities jointly and usually work to monthly themes.

Historically it has met in St Edmunds Church on the third Friday of the month starting at 10.00am for up to 1.5 hours.  However whilst social distancing rules are in place it convenes using Zoom sessions.

Members are a small group of keen art enthusiasts and welcome new members of any level from beginners to the experienced.  Previous themes have included monochromatics, animals, ceramics etc.  Members try to involve villagers by staging community art displays.

Anyone wishing to join, or perhaps simply to join a Zoom session, will be ensured of a warm welcome together with mutual artistic encouragement!  For more information please get in touch with Gill at or our Parish Clerk.
